  1. Have a good night rest the day before. Ensure a minimum 7hours of rest to keep your mind working at optimum condition.
  2. Have a good breakfast in the morning. It will power your body as it starts itself up in the morning. A hungry stomach will also distract you during the exam.
  3. Ensure all stationary are prepared. Wear a watch in order to keep track of time.
  4. Before the exam, stays calm and clears your mind of any last-minute revision. Walk into the exam hall confidently as it will sub-consciously increase your mental performances before the exam.
  5. Plan your time well. Go through the paper by glancing through the questions before attempting it. Get a feel of how much time you need to allocate for each segment.
  6. Read every question at least twice. This helps you understands what the question requires you to answer and how you should phrase your answer.
  7. Never let any difficult question slows you down. Make a mark against it so you can track it later and move on to the next question. Come back and attempt this question after you have completed the rest.
  8. Keep note of the time, if there is a shortage of time, choose and answer easier questions first. Do not let the pressure overwhelms you, keep your composure.
  9. Double check for spelling errors, calculation errors, transfer errors (eg transferring of wrong digits from question to workings) and etc.
  10. Make sure all your answer scripts are accounted for. You do not want to be accused of cheating or just plainly forgetting to submit any part of your answer scripts.

How to make my house more conducive for tuition?

  1. Allocate a place/corner or preferably a room for tuition. This tuition room should be set in a way to be more free and creative than a classroom. This will help develop and encourage your child's creativeness.
  2. The tuition room must also be spacious and comfortable to make learning easy. You are also encouraged to remove any distraction from these rooms like toys, television, computer, PSP and etc. Without these distractions, your child can focus better and longer.
  3. Pack the room with books so that it can act as a library. This helps improve your child's knowledge. In addition, keep some storybooks in the room for your child to read in the event he gets bored.
  4. Create Lesson plans/Time Tables. This helps both you and your child progress steadily and sticks to plan.
  5. Encourage your child to keep a diary or memo so you can monitor his tuition progress like what he have learnt, what he did not understand and etc.
  6. Invest in exam papers and textbooks that the school did not offer. Exam papers are a good gauge to measure his progress while textbooks allow him to learn additional information. Check out our tuition center's exam papers now.
  7. Computer games/educational games. Reward your child with games, be it computer games or educational games. The point is to link playing and learning together so he feels that learning is fun too. Remember to limit his playing time so that he would not be more interested in playing than learning.
